How did we find this out?
The Australian War Memorial, in Canberra, holds information about Australians involved in all wars and other conflicts.

1. Go to the site www.awm.gov.au
2. Click on Roll of Honour
3. In the Surname box, type the surname of the soldier, for example: Hodgman
4. In the Conflict drop-down menu, select First World War, 1914-1918
5. Click SEARCH
6. Scroll down to find the details for the soldier. For example "Hodgman, Harry" who enlisted at Brighton, Tasmania would have to be the "Hodgman, H." on our Roll of Honour.
